Nerdtastic Shopping Trip, 2015 edition

My first trip to our new FLUBS (Fine Local Used Book Store)

I stumbled upon a gold mine!

I always get outbid for The Temple of Elemental Evil on eBay and they go for upwards of $100 regularly. (I’ve been hunting for a complete copy for a couple of years.) Finding it, along with Queen of Spiders, the DMs Screen, The Players Screen (seriously!), AND the old school character sheet (where you get one on card stock to photocopy) with all of the character adventure record sheets intact!

I was our groups DM back in the day (that would be the 1980’s in my case) because I had all the books and the will to learn it. I kind of got stuck with the job but I loved it. One thing I did that my players picked up on, and because we didn’t have money to buy more sheets, is that I would always keep my character sheet in a plastic document protector and I would write on them with grease pencil. Only needed one sheet for any character and never wore an eraser hole in it.

I love this touch, “The Last Will and Testament of _____________.” I forgot all about that!

When I checked the back cover pocket on the Temple of Elemental Evil I was delighted to find the map book was intact! It is not easy to find the whole module complete online without paying a ton. Even in fair to worn condition, I am more than happy with my purchase today!

The DM’s Screen. I never had one (All that space devoted to Psionics? Most DM’s don’t even allow Psionics!) but I made my own all the time. It’s nice to own one now for nostalgia’s sake.
