Ingress players from all over the US descended upon Kansas City this weekend for the Interitus Anomaly. It was the second Anomaly event I’ve been to, the first was in Boulder for Recursion.
Needless to say, at least if you are an Ingress player, the Resistance thoroughly stomped the Enlightened. The score wasn’t even close, Resistance:1729 – Enlightened:174. It was a stark contrast to the Boulder event I participated in, where Resistance barely pulled victory out from under a dominant opposition with nearly twice the members.
It’s been a long day of operations in KC today, and I can feel it. I highly recommend Ingress to anyone interested in a game that will get them out of the house (or the game store) and interacting with their city and other people. The benefits of exercise and exploring the public art, sculptures and other points of interest around is obvious. But, it’s also a lot of fun and a great game.
The above shows Cluster 1 (of 4) for the Kansas City Interitus Anomaly. Portals are marked and given identifiers for quick analysis.
The above was just before the group photograph and kick-off of the Anomaly event.
