Scratch Built Green Slime Miniature
Starting this out, I had no idea what I was doing and I didn’t look up any directions or tutorials on how to make something with hot glue. As you can see in the first couple of pictures below that I initially started the “sculpt” on a piece of plastic. Huge mistake! I had to slowly slice the thing off of the tile with a surgical blade and then base it on more hot glue.
Others have pointed out to me that I can try making an armature out of wire to get a more dramatic leaping effect. I used a technique I improvised using gravity to attempt a lunging look to the blobs so that the miniature can be placed to maximize the look of an attack.
There are some very obvious flaws to this prototype, but I like where this is going. Sculpting with hot glue is completely new to me, and I burned myself pretty good once making this. Always use caution, safety third, all that jazz. Let’s be careful out there!
I tried plastic wrap (bad idea), wax paper, and aluminum foil for working surfaces after fumbling with the plastic tile. Going forward I’ll use foil unless I learn something new when I actually get around to googling how to do this.
