I picked up Citadel’s Liquid Green Stuff a few weeks ago, and I finally had occasion to use it the other day on a piece of foam terrain I’ve been working on.

I originally glued these two semi-conical pieces of foam together and then heat-sculpted the outside into a sort of hourglass column shape. The thought was that it’s like where a stalactite and a stalagmite grow together to form a column in a natural cavern environment. Of course, I was left with a seam where I had glued the two pieces together that I could not get rid of without sculpting the foam with a hot wire tool.

So, I decided to give the Liquid Green Stuff a try, and I have to say it worked like a charm. It was just the right consistency to goop on and sort of smooth out with a piece of a bamboo fork (just what I had easily at hand) and sculpt into a form. It held immediately and took very little work to make the seam disappear. I know that once i paint this piece you will not be able to see where the seam was at all.

I decided to arrange my tool/hobby box, which is made of removable containers, with loose samples of the landscape/scenery materials I’m acquiring for easy access when making terrain. This turns out to be a much more useful application of the box!

Some WIPS

Here’s just a few previews of coming attractions. Sneak Peaks, if you like. I have a multi-level piece and I’m working on making a cauldron piece.
