Hand Painted Miniature: Orcus! (Prince of the Undead)

Orcus (Prince of the Undead)

I found this miniature which had already been converted by replacing the head, the original was a reaper giant figure and they’ve attached the head of some other figure, but the whole thing looks to me like a skinny, young version of Orcus, so that’s what he is!

Small mishap while painting him, he took a tumble off the desk and lost his head. I re-attached it with a bit of Milliput and moved on. I’ve gotten a bit better with my use of Milliput, but I’m nowhere near ready to try sculpting with it.

Google auto-awesome makes these little animated gif images from photos you take very close together, which sometimes results in some really cool mini videos. This is not one of those times. But, it did make one anyway and I’ve learned to try to get these to occur by holding down the shutter on my droid phones camera (which is to say, tap and hold on the screen) which sends the camera into motor-drive mode.

Being one of the largest miniatures I’ve painted so far, these two pictures below show him to scale. Even at his large size, his toenails are still teeny tiny!
