Hand Painted Miniature WIP; Mounted Spellcaster 2nd update

This Monday evening’s work is more details on the mounted spellcaster. I painted the gold accents on his staff and touched up a lot of areas. Painted his keys and ornaments and the orb on the end of his staff also. I decided to paint the horse grey, that will be upcoming.

Also, on recommendation I have begun painting with distilled water only. My local tap water seems to work fine but I’m worried about the long-term effects of chlorine and minerals in the water reacting with the paint. I’ve also taken to wearing gloves the whole time, partly to keep the paint off my hands but mostly to keep the oils from my hands from getting on the miniature.
