Game Store Addiction
I told Angie I had to huff some game store air yesterday, even if I didn’t buy anything. So, another 5 miniatures and 2 pots of paint later, my addiction to game products was sated. Temporarily.
There’s also a miniature that I did not include photos of. Because this particular miniature is very shiny still and has a lot of detailed sculpting, it did not photograph well. I’ll post pics of it when I get these primed. It’s another mounted figure that looks like an anti-paladin type carrying a staff.
Love Citadel Paints! But, guys, less cheese-factor in the product names would be awesome! I had almost thought Games Workshop had stopped making a gloss coat till I ran into this product in the store and had to Google its awkward name to make sure it was a clear gloss coating. Talk about doing things backwards!
This is a used miniature we picked up, another one I can’t identify. He has the ears of a goat (or maybe a donkey?) and goat-like curled horns. But, he doesn’t have cloven hooves, he has normal human feet. Is that actually a rhinoceros head?
Update: a poster on the Nerdtastic Facebook page identified the body as Reaper 77005: Ogre Chieftain. That’s the plastic (boo!) version of the same mold anyway. Looks like someone swapped out the head for something else.
It looks like it was lovingly crafted with modeling glue and green stuff epoxy on the neck, but never painted. He’s carrying a large banded wooden club and has bracers and a belly plate.
This odd mini has an odd sized base, about an inch and a half square. I’ll just have to assume a 10′ reach on him for play purposes. (D20/Pathfinder Rules.)
Why the holes? That ruler is also my circle cutter; I drilled a hole through it every half an inch to insert the hot wire knife blade into. Anchor the other end with a toothpick and I can cut foam circles around the next guy. Rimshot!
Pretty sure this guy is a mounted battle mage style character, but Angie is set on making her next character a cleric and using this as her figure.
This guy is going to be a blast to paint! I can’t wait to get to them, but I’m forcing myself to finish the miniatures I already have primed and ready to go. I also have product reviews to kick out this week, which is priority number one in the work department.
I think the tails are broken off of most of these horse miniatures. Does anyone know where to get some horse tails?
